A Time to Live Surviving Suicidal Thoughts

About the Author
As a long-term sufferer of suicidal ideation, Kimberly Andry is
uniquely qualified to address this delicate subject matter. After
years of fearing death by her own hand, Kimberly made a
commitment to spend one year replacing her suicide plan with
a how to live plan. A Time to Live: Surviving Suicidal Thoughts
compiles her experiences into ten essential life-saving strategies.
Thirty years of suicidal thoughts were a symptom of her clinical depression, social anxiety
disorder and attachment disorder. Kimberly states, “God allowed these challenges to come
into my life with the promise that He would have good come from my suffering. A Time to Live:
Surviving Suicidal Thoughts represents God’s promise fulfilled in that many people will be
provided the strategies needed to survive life-threatening thoughts of suicide as a result of my
experiences.
Kimberly was born and raised in Houston, Texas. She has a Bachelor of Business
Administration Degree with a major in Finance and a minor in Sociology from Stephen F.
Austin University in Nacogdoches, Texas. After graduating from college, Kimberly accepted an
entry-level position with the Dun and Bradstreet Corporation that turned into a 16-year
corporate career. She left the corporate business world in 2004 to pursue full-time Christian
service. Since that time, she has participated in various ministries that include serving food
pantry clients, assisting pre-release offenders with job interviewing skills, teaching Oral English
& Western Culture to medical students in China, coordinating a site for the Christian Women’s
Job Corp of Austin, and acting as a volunteer assistant to the Executive Director for the Dream
Center Austin.
Because of her own battles with mental health issues including suicide ideation, social anxiety
disorder and attachment disorder, Kim has a special passion for helping others overcome
similar circumstances. The lack of practical information for suicide ideation sufferers was her
motivation for writing A Time to Live: Surviving Suicidal Thoughts. Kimberly is currently
pursuing a Master of Arts in Professional Counseling in order to eventually enter private
practice as a Licensed Professional Counselor.
